June 15-19, 2026, Huntington Place, Detroit, MI
Constitutional Resolutions Up for Review
These resolutions represent those that were submitted for consideration at the next General Membership Meeting. Please take a moment to review these resolutions prior to the meeting on Wednesday, March, 16, 2026. Any other resolutions to be considered must be presented at that meeting, in-writing, in order to be considered for submission.
Protecting Democratic Participation & Anti-Retaliation
Participation in our union should never require "bravery." We are proposing a critical amendment to the UAW Constitution to explicitly protect your right to vote, dissent, and run for office without fear of shop-floor retaliation or political sabotage. By defining intimidation as "conduct unbecoming," this resolution ensures that Local 1869 remains a safe, transparent democracy where every member can speak freely. [Read the Full Resolution]
Equity of Benefits and Elimination of Contractual Tiers
Equal pay for equal work" should never stop at your paycheck. We are proposing a resolution to eliminate the contractual tiers that leave salaried and specialized members with inferior healthcare compared to their hourly counterparts. By establishing a policy of Benefit Parity, we ensure that healthcare gains for one unit are automatically extended to everyone. It’s time to end the division and restore true solidarity across the entire membership. [Read the Full Resolution]
Modernization of the Local Union Information System (LUIS)
Our administrative systems shouldn't be stuck in the past. We are proposing a modern, web-based replacement for the LUIS system that finally recognizes the specific realities of salaried members and complex employment statuses. From transparent tracking of International requests to secure digital file sharing, this resolution is about giving our Union the 21st-century tools needed to represent you effectively and efficiently. Union leadership shouldn't be a barrier to your professional career and vice versa. We are proposing a new initiative to support "working officers" who balance full-time jobs with the needs of their membership. By standardizing digital communication and creating a centralized resource library, this resolution ensures that smaller and specialized locals have the modern tools and asynchronous support they need to be as effective as the largest plants. Modernizing Support for Small Locals
Transparency, Digital Communication Standards, and Constitutional Accountability
Your right to know what happens at the highest levels of our union shouldn’t depend on social media rumors. We are proposing a resolution to establish an official Membership Communication Portal and an automated notification system for all International Executive Board (IEB) actions. By mandating advanced meeting notices and clear, digital access to official reports, this amendment ensures that transparency is a guarantee, not an afterthought, keeping every member informed and empowered.
